Torroella de Montgrí has a museum, a cinema, art galleries and celebrates an International Music Festival. The L'Estartit beach and the Isles Medes (illes Medes) are about 5 km away. There are other very special places to visit like the Greek ruins of Empuries, the Iberian town of Ullastret, the Dalí museum and the medieval villages of Pals and Peratellada. The Montgrí mountain and the Medes Isles are the symbols of the area. For those who like golf, there is a golf course 2 km away from the village

Comments about Girona city and Girona province
The province of Girona is very well-known
by its coast: the Costa Brava, but many people also know the enchantments
of the inner Girona province, with their medieval towns
and villages like Monells (to go for a walk there means to step back in
history), and with its landscapes and magical places worthy to visit.
To use the word magical means something, we experienced it and we know
about the telluric force there.
To know the province of Girona, it is worth to visit, later or before,
the city of Girona. We refer to the words of the City council,
which are published in its Web site to make a small summary about Girona
: "A stroll allows to enjoy the life of the city, the old part, a
project of patrimonial rehabilitation of which we feel proud, the houses
on the river Onyar, the offer of museums, the Cathedral, the church of
Sant Feliu, the walk along the Wall... are places to contemplate, to take
a walk without haste, for leisure"... "Girona has the
enchantment of the great cities but without agglomerations; it
is a city made for human beings, a city to lose itself in all the senses:
streets, celebrations (fiestas), cultural life, tourist services, restaurants,
